Port of Charleston · Charleston, SC

Halfway between New York and Miami, with one of the deepest harbors on the East Coast.

The Port of Charleston forms a significant part of Charleston Harbor, spread across three marine terminals and known for industry-leading truck turn times and vessel productivity.

Why Charleston

A deep harbor, a strategic position, and the productivity to match.

Nestled on the southeastern coastline, the Port of Charleston is spread across three primary marine terminals: Wando Welch, North Charleston, and the Hugh K. Leatherman Sr. Terminal. Leatherman is the newest and one of the most advanced container terminals in the country.

Charleston Harbor is one of the deepest on the East Coast at 45 feet, capable of accommodating the largest modern container ships. The port sits halfway between New York and Miami, with Interstate 26 linking directly to I-95 and I-20 and CSX and Norfolk Southern rail service on-site.

The South Carolina Ports Authority is known for productivity, routinely leading the U.S. East Coast in vessel turn times and truck turn times. The port handles container, RoRo, breakbulk, and bulk cargo.
